About Conna House Language & Cultural Centre
Built in Victorian times, Conna House is a home steeped in charm and history. Situated in the tranquil village of Conna, about 25 minutes drive from Cork City in the picturesque River Bride region. Our language and cultural centre is close to the border with Waterford and just eight miles from the market town of Fermoy.
A feature of the house is the rich old pine joinery, shutters and floors. Our sitting and drawingrooms are double aspect rooms with marble fireplaces and polished wood floors. The diningroom has French windows to the garden and our breakfast room has an oil-fired Aga and a quarry-tiled floor.
The River Bride is a noted sea trout river, while the Blackwater River nearby is regarded as Ireland's finest salmon river. Golf and hunting facilities abound in the area.
Recently established as a Language and Cultural Centre, "Conna House" is the perfect setting to learn English while experiencing the various delights and traditions of the Irish Culture. At "Conna House" we firmly maintain that students can achieve a more immediate level of learning and a greater degree of confidence through a concept of total immersion in the English language. Our vision has been to develop an environment where students feel positive, comfortable and content. We believe that such an atmosphere is essential to optimum language learning.
However, we also strive to give our students a lot more than just English language tuition and we organise activities, day trips, food & entertainment. Each course includes a comprehensive introduction to Irish and European culture.
